New Site Focuses on Usability And Connecting Residents And Visitors To City Services
The city of Las Vegas has launched a newly redesigned version of the city website, www.lasvegasnevada.gov. The site now features a refreshed look, the option to view the site in multiple languages through improved translation services and focuses on delivering information conveniently as well as connecting users to city services.
The refreshed site offers flexibility in how information is presented utilizing videos, images and more. The city worked with local web design firm AdLava, now known as LSM, to design the site. The new visual design is clean, bright and professional, offering easy navigation and many ways to get to the services and information the city provides.
The city also has contracted with Smartling, a translation company that is providing software to allow visitors to the site to translate it to seven languages, including Spanish and Tagalog, with the click of a button. The service combines machine and human translators to ensure that the information on the site remains accurate in whatever language a user is most comfortable with.
In addition to the new site, the city offers many ways for residents to learn about what is happening in the city. The city offers award–winning programming through KCLV Channel 2 as well as on multiple streaming platforms. The city also has a robust social media presence, and offers the free GOVegas app, which is available for free download for iOS from the Apple App Store and for Android at Google Play.
