August 8, 6-8 P.M., At Veterans Memorial Community Center
The public is invited to join Ward 2 Councilwoman Victoria Seaman as she hosts a free event to help prevent children from falling victim to human trafficking. The event will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Veterans Memorial Community Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Sponsored by Awareness Is Prevention, Power2Parent and the B.E. A SHERO Foundation, the event will include a film exposing how predators operate to entice and ultimately control their victims. The film is appropriate for ages 13 and older.
The community partner speakers will include Lena Walther from Awareness Is Prevention, Erin Phillips from Power2Parent, Kimberly Miles from the B.E. A SHERO Foundation and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Detective Julia Tafesh. All will be available to answer questions.
